PhD, architect, accredited chaired professor, is currently director of the Urban and Regional Planning Department at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC).
He is a professor of Urban Design and Public Space and is a president of a Final Project Tribunal at the Escola Tècnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB-UPC).
He also teaches a variety of subjects at graduate and undergraduate level, including Barcelona I: Caminar Barcelona. He has been a visiting professor at several universities worldwide. In his professional practice, his projects range from the regional scale to that of the city and that of the place; he has also designed public buildings and public spaces.
He has supervised many doctoral theses and is author of more than a dozen books and numerous research papers. He has won many prestigious teaching, architecture and urbanism awards.
